## 💰Wrapped VORA Token

Wrapped VORA Token, commonly known as **WVRA**, is a tokenized representation of VORA that is designed to work with smart contracts, decentralized applications, and trading platforms that require a standard token format.

{% hint style="info" %}
Wrapped VORA helps connect the native Vorachain asset with the wider world of decentralized finance. It provides greater flexibility for users, stronger compatibility for developers, and more opportunities for VORA to be used across the growing Vorachain ecosystem.
{% endhint %}

VORA is the native cryptocurrency of the Vorachain network. It is used for transaction fees, network operations, validator participation, staking, and other ecosystem services. Because native blockchain assets are managed directly by the network protocol, some decentralized applications may need a compatible token version to interact with them more easily. Wrapped VORA solves this by creating a token that represents VORA on a one-to-one basis.

In general, **1 WVRA is backed by 1 VORA** held in the wrapping contract or designated reserve mechanism. When a user wraps VORA, the original VORA is deposited into the wrapping system, and the same amount of WVRA is issued to the user’s wallet. When the user wants to convert back, they can unwrap WVRA. The WVRA is removed from circulation, and the matching amount of VORA is returned to the user.

## ⚙️VORA vs. WVRA Comparison

| Feature | VORA (VRA) | Wrepped VORA (WVRA) |
| ---------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------- |
| Token Type | Native token of Vorachain | Wrapped token representing VORA |
| Main Purpose | Gas fees, transfers, staking, and network activity | DeFi, token swaps, liquidity pools, and smart contracts |
| Value | Native value of VORA | Designed to represent VORA at a 1:1 ratio |
| Gas Fee Payment | Yes | No, users need native VORA for gas fees |
| Smart Contract Compatibility | Native blockchain asset | Standard token format for dApps and DeFi |
| Conversion | Not required | Can be wrapped from VORA and unwrapped back to VORA |
| Typical Use | Sending assets and paying network fees | Trading, staking, lending, and providing liquidity |

This process allows users to keep the value of VORA while accessing more advanced decentralized finance features. For example, WVRA can be used in token swaps, liquidity pools, staking platforms, lending protocols, yield applications, NFT marketplaces, and other smart-contract-based services. It gives developers a standard and familiar token interface for building applications on Vorachain.

Wrapped VORA can improve compatibility across the ecosystem. Decentralized exchanges and automated market makers often use standard token contracts for pairs and liquidity pools. By using WVORA, platforms can create trading pairs such as **WVRA/USDT**, **WVRA/USDC**, or **WVRA/other supported assets**. Users can provide liquidity, exchange tokens, and interact with decentralized applications through a unified token standard.

WVORA is not intended to replace the native VORA token. Instead, it extends the usability of VORA within decentralized applications. Native VORA remains important because it is used to pay gas fees and perform essential transactions on the Vorachain network. Users may need to keep a small amount of native VORA in their wallet to pay transaction fees, even when they hold or trade WVRA.

Users should always verify the official Wrapped VORA contract address before adding WVRA to a wallet or interacting with a decentralized application. They should use only official Vorachain channels, trusted links, and verified smart-contract information. Never approve transactions from unknown websites or share a recovery phrase, private key, or wallet password.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://vorachain.gitbook.io/vorachain-docs/reference/wrapped-native.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
